Deer Park High School
NLE Lab and Studio
Microsearch, Inc recently completed the design, integration and
installation of the Video Production Lab and Television Studio
for Deer Park ISD at their South High School campus. The facility
includes a state of the art production/teaching lab with 27 DigitalStorm
non linear editing workstations featuring the Realtime RT-2000
from Matrox. This lab allows 25 students in each of 4 one hour
classes to edit their own project. The teacher workstation is
a fully configured NLE as well and it or any of the workstations
can be routed to either of the dual Data Projectors displayed
on two 6' by 8' screens for student review or as an example to
be used by the instructor. 4 Digital Video Camcorders with all
of the accompanying lighting and wireless audio equipment provide
plenty of video production capabilities for each student to work
on individual projects at their own pace. The adjoining TV Studio
is fully broadcast quality with 2 digital studio cameras complete
with studio viewfinders, lens control and camera control from
inside the control room as well as studio lighting with remote
dimming control. The studio features a 35 ft "Holoset"
wall of space age material and lighting used to create computer
generated virtual sets by the students for live or taped broadcast.
Wunsche School Spring Texas: MicroSearch created a first rate facility that rivals any technology classroom in the State. The classroom was designed to give students their own individual work area complete with a Digital Storm non-linear editor. These include the latest technology from Matrox, Adobe and Sonic. Each workspace is topped off with a 17" Viewsonic flat panel display and a 13" Panasonic color monitor. The top of the classroom has a large Canon projector and screen, flanked by two 36" Sharp monitors. All lessons include step-by-step instruction on the big screen while the monitors display the final creation. A movable cart is another element to this mounting classroom. The cart holds multiple VHS decks for easy access.
Along with the development of this facility, MicroSearch devised and executed a custom network to enable project sharing. The Wunsche School and MicroSearch are proud partners in the development of this high tech classroom

The facility includes a state of the art production/teaching lab with 25 workstations based on Matrox RT2500 real-time video capture card. The Broadcast TV Studio includes 2 JVC 550 studio cameras, 2 Canon XL1s field cameras, overhead dual projection, peer to peer network among each workstation and studio, & mobile chroma key, full room design services and customized training. Scala Broadcasting System- Public Access Channel
Messaging System
SCALA player computer system configured for MPEG-2
playback including MPEG-2 decoder/genlock and scan converter,
converted existing PC to be a SCALA authoring system to create
edit video, graphics, write scripts. Reporter software that allows
students to create programing scripts and send them from a remote
location to authoring system for review and posting. Customized
training provided and technical assistance provided.
Trinity Switcher System
Microsearch installed the Trinity for the technology
center as a part of the student run broadcast network. This Fort
Bend School is a leader in technology education. The Trinity is
used for live switching, creating graphics and custom titles.
The real time functionality is key to the success of the student
run network. As a testament to their success in technology education,
news broadcast is aired daily throughout the district and the
Trinity is a significant part of their success

Oak Forest Elementary School Humble Texas: An opportunity to broadcast announcements and birthday wishes is the goal at this elementary school in Humble. With some strategic planning from MicroSearch, a detailed description was laid out to create a working broadcast announcement system. A complete studio requires lights, cameras, and microphones. Add a switcher; a title maker and finally a Casablanca Avio for good measure and you have the Oak Forest Elementary broadcast network. MicroSearch provided the tools, tips and tricks along with comprehensive training to complete the order. Oak Forest Elementary School and MicroSearch are committed to education excellence.
Pearland High School Texas: Pearland called on MicroSearch for help at the inception of the broadcast technology department. Pearland decided on a MicroSearch Digital Storm workstation tailored around the Matrox RT2500 card set. MicroSearch provided support for two previously purchased AVIO systems. Since then, Pearland has returned to purchase five more digital workstations including a Matrox RTX100 with DVD authoring tools. MicroSearch works closely with Pearland High School in developing an already extensive technology department. Pearland continues to add Canon cameras, Shure microphones and Bogen tripods. Since its start Pearland has relied on MicroSearch for outstanding service as well as fast technical support.
Digital Scout Programs
Sealy High School Texas: In Sealy, Football is king! In an effort
to gain a foothold in competitive athletics, MicroSearch dove
in, building two new scouting computer systems. One is a Digital
Storm workstation with ample storage for video footage. The other
is a portable laptop with an external firewire hard drive. Both
systems are equipped with Quick Scout's football scouting software.
Video Scout is a complete, comprehensive software package that
merges game footage to scouting information. Games can be broken
down in a fraction of the time it used to take. Custom templates
are available to create cut-ups for position coaches.
Sealy added a new Canon mini-DV camera kit for better game coverage.
To round out the installation, a new JVC mini-DV dual deck was
added for support in digitizing games via firewire. Sealy High
School and MicroSearch are partners working together towards another
State Championship.
Friendswood High School Texas: MicroSearch was called upon to help revive the ailing broadcast announcement system at Friendswood High School. The mission was time critical. MicroSearch began with requirements that needed to be addressed. A switcher was first and foremost the biggest requirement. Second was a title creation program along with a graphics tool for backgrounds. MicroSearch suggested and built a Toaster 2 with the SX-8 breakout box option for multiple inputs and outputs. News packages can be edited, stored in a queue, and triggered from the switcher just like a professional broadcast facility. Friendswood recently added two JVC GY-DV500 cameras to further enhance the overall production. MicroSearch is working to keep Friendswood High School, at forefront of broadcast technology
